Marcella-Penny Kowalchuk is a Human Resources Leadership Consultant with over 20 years of experience providing strategic and operational advice to her clients. She assists them in preparing for an uncertain future by listening, learning what is of priority, assessing their situation and co-creating a plan to address their short-term and long-term goals. Marcella collaborates with her network of professionals from a wide range of disciplines and sectors to assist clients in seeking out opportunities, identify resources and gain insights to achieve their objectives.
Marcella uses her ability to address complex workplace dynamics through effective listening, insightful questioning, and applying relevant human resources practices and up-to-date research findings from various disciplines. Her practice areas include strategic workforce planning, employee engagement, performance management, workplace accommodations, talent acquisition, union/labour relations, employer rights and responsibilities, health and safety and workplace investigations.
Marcella is a professor at Sheridan College's Pilon School of Business, teaching human resources and business administration courses. As a Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA) member, she is a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) and holds a Certificate in Human Resources Management. Her other credentials include a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree, training in workplace investigations, organizational dynamics, management development, psychological health and safety and organizational design.
Marcella is enthusiastic about encouraging youth and young adults and delivers workshops to help to prepare them for their transition to high school, post-secondary academic institutions, and the world of work in all its forms. In 2021, Marcella wrote "High School Here I Come ~ Preparing for the Journey," which was written to help students navigate their high school years. She is thankful for the privilege and the ability to volunteer and supports the Girl Guides of Canada, in the role of Resource Guider, a current member of the Board of Directors for BTC - Be The Change and a former Board Director for Caledon Community Services. Marcella is proud to be known as a child of God, a wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
